CONSULTING ELECTRICAL ENGINEERS

Kornacki and Associates, Inc. is a consulting electrical engineering firm, established in 1976 by Gregory Kornacki.

Gregory gained his expertise in the electrical field, as an employee of electrical contractors, light fixture show rooms, and electrical engineering consultants in the Milwaukee area. In May of 1976 he started his own business with his son, Richard in New Berlin, Wisconsin.

In 2006 Gregory retired and passed on the business to his two sons, Richard and David. Richard and David continue to use the lessons learned from Gregory; honesty, trustworthy and work hard to provide a great quality product at a fair price to all clients, no matter how large or small.

We have the ability to work with any software that can produce a DXF file. In-house plotting is available for timely delivery.Throughout Kornacki & Associates, Inc. history, different design methods have been developed to meet customer needs. The following are examples of these design methods to meet your unique project and construction requirements.

1. Design Build Concept:
Through extensive work with design build contractors, the design build concept is a method of preparing scope design documents which provide adequate detail for competitive bidding by electrical contractors. These documents indicate project requirements and set a basic level of quality. They also allow the electrical contractor flexibility in exact equipment selection and final design decisions. In this way we take advantage of competitive bid situations without restricting the contractor’s ability to evaluate current cost structures or to propose his own cost saving ideas.

2. Value Engineering:
evaluated for first cost versus operating cost. The cost of feeders versus the cost of transformation is studied to arrive at the best distribution system. On many projects, studies are done to determine the type of service (primary/secondary) to be used and the cost of that service versus the savings in energy costs. Studies can be conducted to determine if all electric is advantageous, if generators should be incorporated to do peak load shaving, or if buildings are best suited to be full gas generation with paralleling equipment with the power company.

3. Critical Path Method:
have been taken on long lead items and orders have been placed, then orders have been transferred to the successful electrical contractor or the contractor has been required to furnish installation and handling only with the critical path items being purchased directly by the owner.

4. Fast Track Construction:
Many projects have utilized fast track construction. The projects are phased so that equipment with long lead times are designed as part of a phased design. Construction is started on Phase I before the design is complete on Phase II, etc. This allows the client to transition his staff and spread out construction costs.
